About
A commercially-minded Data Scientist at Viettel Group.
My journey into Data Science started with my love for the game Age of Empires, where tracking and analyzing post-game statistics ignited my curiosity about patterns and performance metrics.
This interest grew as I blended my engineering and business background to recognize data as an invaluable asset across industries and the key to solving hidden challenges.
Spending many years studying and working in Taiwan and Australia, interculture is also a big part of me. I enjoy collaborating with people from different backgrounds and learning from their perspectives. I believe that diversity is a strength that can lead to better solutions and innovation.

Projects

Intercontinental Bank Real-Time Fraud Detection System
Built a real-time global fraud detection system for a simulated major bank, estimated to save $13.3M in fraud losses monthly.

2025 EY Open Science AI & Data Challenge
Led a team of 1 data scientist, 2 data analysts to work with satellite images, sensor data & weather records to build a ML model that predicts the Urban heat island effect. The project not only aims to deliver an applicable AI for the local policy makers, but also holds a vision to help reducing the impact of urban heating to our world. Result: 7th Australia, 67th/10000+ globally.

AtliQ sales data analysis and dashboard visualization
Data analysis & visualization of 150k+ data points with SQL and PowerBI to determine sales bottlenecks and suggest solutions to stakeholders.

Global Disaster Dashboard - MQU DataViz 2024 Winner
Led a team of 4 data analysts, built an interactive dashboard that live updating global disaster data to promote natural disaster awareness and United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13. Dashboard supports both Desktop and Mobile devices. Winner at Macquarie University DataViz Challenge 2024.

2025 Interuni Datathon at UNSW: Australian Utimate Ski Holiday Forecasting
We picked the optimal ski resort & week for 2026 in Australia for tourists using the SARIMA model with enhanced literature-based features. We did not win, but the team did a great job together to provide a well-researched & optimized model that is ready to go. Thanks Dominos for the awesome pizzas that gave us the energy to grind 48 hours.

Intel Image Classification
A computer vision project utilizing Convolution Neural Networks. Distinguised 25k+ high similarity images with an accuracy score of >90%.

Data Analysis and Prediction of SpaceX Falcon9 rocket launches
Conducted exploratory Analysis and dashboard visualization of launches data to enhance data-driven decision making. Built 6 different Classification models to predict launch outcomes
Activities

ASA Datafest 2025 at Macquarie Uni
Spent 3 days as a mentor in Python/R/Power BI - a fantastic experience working alongside industry experts from CommBank ands NSW Health, fellow mentors and all the incredibly talented undergraduate participants.

Sydney AI + Data meetups
A monthly informal meetup event hosted in Sydney CBD where I usually take part in to meet Sydney's best data/AI professionals to discuss about the latest data tech, the job market and learn more from the their wisdom.

The Statistical Society of Australia
The home for Statistics professionals in Australia. Being a part of some SSA events taught me the importance of 'Statistical Thinking' over rote calculation - it’s about the ability to quantify uncertainty in an increasingly unpredictable world.

Vietnamese Student Association at NTUST - Vice President
Helped Vietnamese students in Taiwan feel at home during their study abroad. Connected multinational corporates with Vietnamese students for job opportunity. Contributed to bring the Vietnamese culture to Taiwan. I worked to secured US$10,000+ in sponsorship for our events.
